I’ve been collecting military models for over two years, building a solid knowledge base on military tanks, vehicles, and weapons during this time.
From a young age, I’ve always been fascinated by anything military, especially WWII. I remember being thrilled as a kid watching classic war films like A Bridge Too Far, The Eagle Has Landed, The Bridge at Remagen, The Great Escape, The Guns of Navarone, and Zulu.
Having two brothers equally passionate about military history likely fueled my interest. My twin focused on earlier periods like the American Civil War, Anglo-Zulu Wars, and American Indian Wars, particularly the US Cavalry. My eldest brother was more interested in the Napoleonic Wars. It was my eldest brother who introduced me to model making, constantly building Airfix or Tamiya model kits.
While I’m not a modeler myself, I appreciate the artistry and effort involved. My interest lies in military models, documenting them, and using my photography skills to showcase them in the best possible light.
My Collection
My collection primarily consists of WWII tanks, vehicles, and weapons, though I’ve also branched out into other periods and conflicts. Additionally, I’ve created several dioramas.
Reasons for the Website
The website originated from my interest in WWII military models and my desire to share my collection with others, particularly model makers and collectors. It serves to document various tanks, vehicles, and weapons, and helps keep track of my collection.
Currently, the website is in its initial stages. I’m developing a more dynamic platform where users can interact and leave comments on my collection.
Selling
I currently sell on eBay, and the website allows potential buyers to preview my collection before listing items.
Photography
Most photos of military models on the website are currently those of the sellers I’ve purchased from. Gradually, I’m replacing these with my own photos, an ongoing process at the moment.
